Tomorrow I am going to UIL with my orchestra. I am first chair violin, so I have to make a good impression. I was thinking of either putting my hair in a banana clip and curling it. Or, half up and half down, then curling whatever is down. I straighten my hair everyday, so none of that. I will also be leaving out my side bangs with these hairstyles. I have hair that is long, dark brown, and straight with layers. Which hairstyle do you think I should do?

I have the same type of hair as you, and I'm also a violinist, so I'll try and give you some suggestions. I usually wear my hair half-up, but it tends to get caught in my shoulderrest. Curls can also get in the way if there are too many of them, so if you do curl your hair, use a larger barrel size and curl large portions. I also find that a high ponytail with curls and side bangs works well, stays out of your face and looks cute, too! Hope this helps~

ok so i got a haircut and its not long anymore.so its up to about my shoulders and i want it to look more light because it looks puffy.I know your all going to tell me to use a straightener but i cant because my hair will look worser because my hair is damaged already.So if there is no way i can make it look lighter then what are other cute hairstyles that have your hair down? Your best bet at this point is to use some heavy styling products. If your hair is very thick and damaged (like mine) I would suggest a small dab of ethnic hair dressing. This can be bought anywhere-grocery, beauty supply, or dollar store. Put this on when it is wet and then style as usual. This stuff is HEAVY but it will soften your hair and help weigh it down, but go easy. If your hair is fine or thin, then you have fewer options. Try some of the anti-poof styling products. Actually, Loreal Studio Line has some good stuff. I bought a bottle in a pinch on vacation and love it so I have kept using it. Good luck!

Use sunsilk shampoo 'silky and smooth' and sunsilk conditioner also sunsilk 'silky and smooth' When blow drying run through your hair with a brush and stop before getting to the end then blow dry. if you are unable to use straighteners also use heat holding spray and use a hot comb it is called an 'afro comb' but not alwayed used for afro's this contracts less heat... alot less and also the heat holding spray will stop damage.. you can even just get heat spray.. holding heat spray is to keep it straight longer..

yes, you can. i actually have the same problem and all. whenever i wear my hair up, i wear low. for example, i wear a low ponytail, and then i be sure that my hair is covering my ears. another way to do that is wear a low braid. you can also pull the front half of your hair up with a tie (covering your ears while pulling back) and then tie al of your hair together, like a ponytail within a ponytail

Ok well if they really stuck out then your doctor etc. may have recommended an operation to get them pinned back.

You are probably the only one who notices them-how many people who are sensible and intelligent have told you that they stick out?

I personally don't look at peoples ears very often and I highly doubt that other people do.

Try a ponytail with hair tendrils out at the front. If your hair is thick this works especially well, since its layered it should be fine. If you want a little more coverage, try curling all your hair, or curl the front pices and pull them down for wave.

you could put it in a low bun/ponytail, that way the sides cover your ears. to spice it up a bit, you could put a flower in the side of it or use a decorative clip.

this isn't really an updo, but it'll get the hair out of your face: take a clip and clip your bangs/the front of your hair back.

there's also pulling it back into a "half ponytail", as I like to call them. where you just clip back the top half of your hair.

If you have long bangs you can use them to cover your ears. Pulling your hair into a messy bun, braid, or ponytail can go with long loose bangs.

Perfume/Cologne for a guy....I don't know how to describe it but there are certain scents that drive a girl bonkers. AXE is NOT one of them, or shouldn't be a guys default. As far as I'm concerned, if you cant find a good scent, don't wear anything at all. Shower regularly, and wear deodorant. If you want to find a good scent, however...take a female friend to a counter in a department store or something and have them help you find one they like.

Okay, this is an album, the pictures of me are entitled 'Me.' and the ones of the hairstyles I want are entitled 'Hair.'

I would like the type of hairstyle that is short at the back but long at the front. But I was wondering if it would suit me?

i really don't reccomend that hair style. i've been growing it out forever, there are no styling options, your hair feels icky, it's high matience (needs to be trimmed almost weekly and roots need to be dyed frequently) and it takes for ever to grow backand frankly i've never seen anyone with it and thought "wow, their hair looks awesome" your face shape is more heart than oval, i dont know if any really short style will look that good on you to be honest, and your hair looks rather thin, and this style requires a high density of hair. you should try a chin lenghth bob with layers

I have long straight brown hair that almost touches the butt and my curling iron is too small to curl all the way up and it takes a real long time. I can't straighten it because it's already straight. Please list any hairstyles that would work; tell me if a 3 barrel curling iron makes a cute hairstyle; or, how the heck to use brush rollers. if you can include sites please do. take a night time shower..when u have towel dried hair...french braid it, or just braid it normally. Then take it off in the morning. make sure that u put mousse in it when u take it off. and don't braid, all of your hair, it'll end up too poofy. also, braid your hair till the end part, soo it doesn't look uneven. good luck (:

Wash your hair and tie it in a pony tail and then wait till its a little drier but still wet. Twirl it into one big .. twirl/curl. Wait for your hair to FULLY dry (I suggest doing this a few hours before you go to bed the night before your picutures). Once it is dry, take out the rubberband and then untwist the one big curl and just part the groups of hair and it should come out curly

Hi. I have long dark brown hair that is to the middle of my back. I usually just straighten it, scrunch it with gel, or ponytail it up ;) Here is my question: What are some good ideas for a new cut and color? I don't want anything too dramatic, I like having long hair, but I am bored with long, dark brown layered hair. I had long hair all my life, I cut it 6 months ago and regretted it, mainly bcause I cut it a short bob, I am letting it grow out now. Red is a good color, but I am not sure if u like that color maybe start with putting in a few highlights first, blond or red maybe. I don't know of any websites sorry.

PS. Don't cut ur hair 2 short, that way u can decide afterwards if u would like it shorter.

My hair is quite thick, not extremley thick but just quite. Its also a sort of semi curly. It isn't curly like small frizzes that keep on going on but its curly as in big curls.

When my hair is long, it looks strange and its healthy but I don't know how to style it. I dont go through a day of school without atleast 5 bad comments on it. When it is wet, my hair can look alright but it makes me head look really small and when I can only straighten it when it is wet which dries quickly. When i apply gel/wax it goes in waves.

I don't know how to style my hair and I was hoping that anyone has any pictures/comments on how to style it because it is bugging me alot.

Hi, right now i have pretty long hair, almost to the middle of my back. i'm thinking about growing it out 2 more inches (around), and then cutting off about 11 inches to donate to Locks of Love. Then, my hair would be about an inch past my shoulders.

I have straight hair, and my face shape is oval-round. I want a hairstyle that might make my cheeks look smaller. Any ideas?

Nothing gives better change than cutting your hair. Put a lot of highlights and lowlights, that will give more volume to your hair, plus it will look more interesting.

a way to change it dramatically is to put in a straight across blunt fringe and keep it long just on the eyebrow, its a big change and if you don't like it,it wont be long growing out and if you go back to the same hairdresser they usually trim it for free

I have really long and straight hair up to my butt. Its so long and SOOOOOOO straight that there is nothing I can think of to do with it. What is a reasonably easy hairstyle that is different than pnytails and braids but also looks good and pretty???????

I know everyone will say this, but if you're bored you should cut off some (not all!) of that length. If it's that long I'm sure you haven't had a serious cut in awhile and I would take it slow(ish). I'd start with losing considerable length, but keep the shape you're used to (don't immediately cut in chunky bangs if you don't have them, for instance) but I think you'll be surprised when you take off some length at how much more natural movement you get with your split ends gone and that (literal) weight off your shoulders. If you start by losing some length, you'll be able to play with it (4 or 5 inches below your shoulders should still look long, but be short enough to work with the up-dos you can't manage with really long hair). Give yourself a month or so and then decide if you want to go shorter or leave it long.

If you can bring yourself to do it, I think the length they require for Locks of Love and other cancer wig charities is eight inches, but I also know that's a tall order (I've had long hair forever, and I'd be terrified to go short).

Most of all, though, if you're bored with your hair make a change. Remember the best thing about hair - it grows back!

Cut it, not too short, but hair that long is just not good. I always looks bad/straggly. Cut it maybe two-four inches below your shoulders. Styles come easily then. An updo would look kinda stupid with hair that long.

You may want to cut it. It will be much easier to work with and it will probably look nicer. An interesting look you could do is to put your hair in a bun and use chopsticks. They may be hard to do at first but they look awsome. Also, you could still put your hair in a pony tail (or a half ponytail) and put ribbons in. Headbands and hair acessories will make it look more interesting too. Good luck! :)

Years ago I used to have long straight hair too but then I decided I wanted a change and got it cut. It was an automatic difference and I guarantee it'll be a huge change and it will definately shock the people who seen you with long hair up until now. : ) I got compliments left and right. Also, when you are at the salon, ask your hairdresser what the new trend is and which style would go great with your face shape.

If you don't want to cut it then go for long waves. Here is a picture of what I mean (scroll all the way to Gisele's picture on the bottom: http://www.latest-hairstyles.com/long/). To get this look, use a thick barrelled curling iron and volumizing mouse/spray and it will give your hair the ultimate lift it needs. If you don't want to cut your hair all the way and only slightly, you can also get side swept bangs or get your hair layered to give your hair volume so it doesn't seem flat. This way you will still have your long hair but it will have a fresher, updated look to it.

If you do decide you want a dramatic change and want to cut it and since you have really long hair, you can donate it to a charity called LockofLove (http://www.locksoflove.org/) like I did. It's a charity that makes wigs for kids with Alopecia. You can tell your hairdresser about it before you get it cut so s/he can save your hair for you.

Whatever style you decide on, good luck finding the right look. : )

I have long dark brown hair, and want to put red and carmel highlights in it. Do you perhaps have any pictures I could see of something like that? I also want to cut my hair shoulder length with kind of shaggy ends. Do you have pictures of a cute hairstyle like that? I would like to see them. :) Also, another question, does it matter if I go to a cheaper salon or an expensive one? It's just some places charge $60 and up for highlights, and some charge $120 and up for highlights. Is it worth it to go somewhere expensive? Thanks for your time and help!!

Natural is coming back in so stick with natural colours.

And ask for an example of some highlights from each salons, see which is the best and go for it. Don't go too over the top with prices, it's not worth it.

As for the picture, i dont have one... but usually more expensive salons ARE worth it.. I find them to be more knowable with their specific hair coloring system. If you tell the hair dress what your looking for she will usually be able to get what you want.. :) do a little research for a good beatician in your area and im sure every thing will turn out fine..

My hair is a little longer than short, but it isnt long. It is naturally brown, but I changed it to blonde. My hair is thick and gets tangled easily. I like to straighten my hair but that isnt enough anymore, so i need new cute TEEN hairstyles. Also i dont like to put a whole bunch of heat on my hair so like i dont want to blow dry it then straighten it then curl it...i like to keep it to just two steps like straighten then curl some. I also like to curl my hair, but i can't exactly get loose curls they are always tight and ugly. (so last year) I do have a double chin, so idk what to do to flatter my whole facial area.

use about a 3/4" curling iron for the curls. shower the night before, and after you curl, let them cool, then run your fingers all through your hair (DON'T use a comb as that will quite uncurl all that work), it loosens up the curls and makes it look more like natural curls than curled hair.

either however your hair dries naturally or after curling, put half of it into a loose ponytail (half up half down), then flip the tail of the pony in over and under the rubberband (a topsy-tail if you can remember those from elementary school!) i love this hairstyle, it's so cute!

french braid, but braid under rather than over. (it's a little edge to a classic hairstyle)

get side swoopy bangs if you don't have them and some layers.

when you have some free time, just go nuts and have a field day trying out different hairstyles until you find what's quick and easy and cute that you want to do. i've figured out some of the best hairstyles that way!

- blowdry then curl with curling iron- wear a cute headband and if you have bangs, tuck them in your headbend like leighton meester from gossipgirl

- curl it and wear it down with two cute bobbypins

- when you have your hair down, create a poof in the front of your head and take bobbypins and pin it.

- do the one above and put it in a ponytail.

- put your hair down and put it in a front ponytail, then put it up again in a regular high ponytail

- wear your hair in braids to bed (partly damp) then when you wake up in the morning, remove the twisties and your hair will be wavy! add any type of accesory or style it anyway you want it

for the comment on your chin...you can hide that with makeup...try a darker shade of foundation under chin area and a little down your neck and your normal foundation everywhere else. you can contour your face with those 2 foundations.

place dark foundation: sides of nose, under cheek bone, under chin, and top of forehead.

then blend everything together with your light foundation.

About your hair: curl it with a large curling iron thats what i do and i get very natural looking fun curls as the fall a little throughout the day.

Just get some mouse and scrunch it into waves. Its easy, requires no heat and is cute. If you don't like that, try flipping it out a little with your straightner. You could also mess around and part it different ways to see if that changes anything. Maybe do two cute braids some days, a little poof at the front or a partial. If that dosn't work out you can always just go to the hairsylist and get a whole new cut and maybe some highlights, that will at least take the boringness out of it even if you do staighten it everyday.

I have medium to long length black hair and it seems I cannot find a good hair site. I am not into the braids hairstyles, but more for a simple, casual look.

I will like to see more pics of black females with a medium to long razor cut, long bob, or something in between.

I know just how you feel! I have long hair %26amp; I've had very very short hair before and everything in between. No matter what length your hair is you can still fall into the same hairstyle everyday %26amp; get bored with it.

There are plenty of things you can try out before cutting off your beautiful healthy hair.

If you decide to cut it: Long layers are nice %26amp; versitile, but you'll need regular trims to keep the look. Anything shorter than shoulder length will just put you back in the same boat ( same hairstyle everyday).

If you decide not to cut it: Just play with it, use fun clips %26amp; accessories. Highlight it. Try different styles of braids, curl it, flatten it, or just part it differently than usual. There are tons of great updos you can try out, most of them look hard to do, but aren't. Visit a hair stylist for ideas or let a friend try out looks on you, or just go online %26amp; look at pictures of hair %26amp; try your best to copy the look.

I losing length off of your hair is an issue, may I suggest a slight change at a time. Doing this, you will know that it is not such a drastic thing, I mean it does grow and a little at a time is much easier to grow out than a drastically short change. You can always cut it shorter, but you cannot lengthen it once it is gone. I would start in 2-3 inch increments, not such a shock to you or your head! Good Luck!!

I totally suggest layers. Make them blunt if you're craving something new, or keep hem natural if you feel like it.

Face framing fringes look good on oval faces, but cropping your hair will make you look quite young. Why not try some paler blonde highlights?? having mine done 1 a month has totally changed me hair. It looks more synamic, interesting, and people stare and then ask me 'Is that natural? It looks lovely!'I even had people wanting them for me to tell them which shade and dye I used!

Well, I'll be straightforward with this.

My hair grows out to be a somewhat Afro/Frizz type of hairstyle and that I don't want it to grow an afro but rather long. My hair is thick and it does have its length but once it keeps growing, one after the other tops it forming a damn afro!

So I heard that chemical/hair relaxers will help me out. But really will it? I mean the word "chemical" is in there and I don't want to lose my hair... I have never tried it and I am willing to only if I get your opinion on what I should do with my hair (especially the girls - they're pros).

Yes, we are pros. haha I woudnt recommend you getting a relaxer...because after years of using it...many people have commented that their hair was thinning, and they had started seeing bald spots. also, if you ever wanna go back to your regular hair...you will have to grow the straight hair out..and you will looks weird, cuz u will afro hair at the roots and straight hair at the bottom..and your hair will break and tear and be quite fragile..thats why so many women are on here asking for the best way to do their hair when they are trying to go natural after having a relaxer in it... Just straighten your hair...or go and get it pressed or something. and when the salon does it...it should stay straight for like a week. not many men go into hair salons...and if you do..it may feel kinda weird...you know? but it will work..and they will come to like you...and you will like them too. so yeah.

I wouldnt recommend the relaxer..they are damaging...and makes your fragile and ready to break when you want your old hair back. and when a relaxer is in...it causes your hair to be thin... and you start to notice small bald spot that can become big ones.

i always go for a low side ponytail. it looks REALLLLLLY cute and its quite original. looks especially cute with a headband.

also, i like to put my hair into a relaly high ponytial, and then you pull out the hair on the top of your hair JUST A LITTLE BIT, so it kindof poofs at the top- looks really cute too.

another idea is to start with the center of the top of your head and make a part going all the way down both sides to the bottem and keep that- then take the back half of your hair and put it onto a ponytail, and then take the front half and pin it at the nape of your neck like a headband would look.

Release the top half of your hair so it covers the roll. Make a side part, then create waves by wrapping 2-inch sections around the outside of a 1 1/2 inch curling iron. Finish by misting your bob all over with hairspray.

3. Lets say your hair is ...wavy/curly.

Apply a quarter size amount of a thick anti-frizz serum to towel-dried hair to keep your strands smooth. Rub the serum over your hands, then run your fingers through your hair from roots to ends.

Blow -dry hair on high heat starting with a 3" wide section in front. Roll each section underonto a velcro roller after blow-drying it. Remove the rollers when your hair is totally dry and has cooled. Finish by evenly misting your whole head with an earosol hairspray from 10" away.

What's up? I'm in the 7th grade and I have medium to long hair. Its naturally curly. I usually put my hair down, in a ponytail, half down and half up, in a half ponytail, or 2 ponytails. I also have bangs that reach my chin.

I'm looking for a classic, but very cute, easy to do style, that involves curls somewhat of a bun but not a simple bun, and something that involves my bangs.

I want to do a sort of makeover. I'll start with my physical details.....I'm a 19 year-old female. I weigh 95lbs, have an oval-shaped face, fair skin, large/round eyes with a greyish-blue color, and long/light brown hair with no highlights. What would be the best makeup and hairstyle for me? Should I get highlights for the hair?

I'd like to get an outfit also. All I ever wear is a basic t-shirt and jeans, so I'd like to get something a little more on the fashion-y side.....I'd prefer something with more bright and cheery colors over duller ones, but nothing TOO bright. :-) Any style is fine. You should get your hair streaked.I love streaks!Try for safisticated clothes,like blazers...Try earthy colors,brown,green,maybe blue,they can be bright too!I love the color yellow esp.,light yellow.Skirts and stockings are cool,and boots.Button up shirts,in different shades.Try looking for clothes with different patterns,so not to be dull.Thats just my taste!Good luck!

YES DO IT! I was the same way about my hair, I was scared, but just ask your hairdresser to 'style it' for you, and they will make sure you look good! It's always nice to treat yourself to a change. You'll feel better about yourself too.

Did you know that there are organizations that would love to have your locks? Talk to a hairdresser, and see what the requirements are...I have several friends that do it for the good of the people...

I looked one up for you...

Locks of Love "is a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children 18 years and younger suffering from long-term medical hair loss." If you're interested in donating your hair for this worthy cause, here are the guidelines:

1. We accept 10" minimum hair length (tip to tip), not wigs, falls, or synthetic hair

2. Please bundle hair in ponytail or braid.

3. Hair needs to be clean, dry, placed in a plastic bag, then padded envelope.

4. We need hair from men and women, young and old, all colors and races.

5. Hair may be colored or permed, but not bleached or chemically damaged (if unsure, ask your stylist).

6. Hair swept off the floor is not usable.

7. Hair cut years ago is usable if it has been stored in a ponytail or braid.

I'm a pretty vein guy, I used to have shoulder length blonde hair but it gets pretty annoying in the summer when you're out doing extreme sports like windsurfing, so i cut it short last year.

I used to use straighteners when my hair was long because its semi wavy and i can't cope with that for some reason.

The point is, when your looking for a guy what do you pay more attention to, do you beleive that hairstyles can really reflect the look of a guy? Women ive been with have commented on my hairstyle looking cool, but I just beleive they were white lies to keep me content with them, so should i be bothered to prepare my hair anyway? and whats the best style you'd say on a blonde hair blue eyed guy

first of all, clean hair please. Nothing worse than dandruff and greasy hair.

You have good hair, so a smart shortish style which doesn't flop over the eyes.

Please don't be tempted to have one of these skin-head looks and get it all shaved off ... awful! Makes everyone look like thugs!

Frankly, I like clean shortish hair. If you colour it, then make sure there's no roots showing.

I don't see one's hairstyle as the main attraction but it is all part of one's general appearance. What does it for me is CLEAN. Clean hair, shoes, shirt, jacket, whatever ... that's the first thing I look for in a man. Then I know that, if he's taking care of himself, that he has plenty of time and energy to take care of ME!

you will need hairpins and maybe a few bobpins. i like the bone pins for decoration.

pull all your hair up on the top like a ponytail (smooth it out)and divide it into 2 parts (right and left) tie into a knot (like tieing your shoe but with out the bow) one time. take a hairpin and pin around the hair that will be on top.

for example: right over left. pin left side around the tail piece.

feel for weighted areas and pin into place.

if using metal pins - bend one side back so it looks like a 'stick h'. it will hold the hair better.

Putt your hair up in a messy bunn ... i do it all the time just make sure its messy and loose its rly cute with curly or straight hair!

oh girl, i got some for u, my hair is to my butt and i have to do it cuz its just frustrating having it just down.

ok for all of these u have to work with it when its wet since its long and spray a tiny bit of hairspray.

1. do a part and pull one side down to the side of your head just behind your ear and make a bun, and repeat on the other side, but dont make the buns to neat or it'll look funny, then just put a rubber band.

2. do the same thing but put the buns on the top sides of ur head kinda like mickey mouse ears. but not as high.

3. bring all your hair to one side of ur head on the bottom behind ur ear for a sideways ponytail and curl it or leave it straight whichever.

4. do the same thing but put it in a bun after u put it on the side.

5. pull about 2 in pieces of ur hair one at a time to the back of ur head and make into neat or sloppy buns always with a little hair poking out u could do half and leave half down or do it all. oh dont pin the buns with rubberbands use 2 or 3 bobby pins on each.

I have thick, shoulder length hair. I have tried it short and long.

I get my hair cut or styled every once in awhile but i am running out of options.

All magazines and salon books have are for people with thin hair who want to make it look thick. Everytime i pick out a hairstyle in a magazine it never comes out right and i regret it.

I NEED SOME HAIRSTYLE IDEAS FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE THICK HAIR!!!

i dont want it bigger or more "volume", i just want a nice style that i can have for awhile.

Have you ever though of layering your hair and getting it razor cut?? it helps thin your hair... i also have thick hair mine is a little shorter than my shouler and razor cut i love it .. it makes it feel so much thinner.. once it starts to grow it will start to get thicker again though but it lasts for a while and looks super cute

Hey everybody, I have a question on how to do my daughter's hair. She's almost 3, and already has some breakage around the front and back of her hair. I usually put her hair into a ponytail and leave it like that all day [I know, thats bad!!! But she has black/puerto rican hair and its reaaaaaaaaally curly...too curly to put into twists]. I don't know what products to use in her hair! I love little black girls with long, smooth hair. And I want my daughter to have the same. I usually use gel, or smoothing salon products in my hair, so I'm not familiar with using grease or anything like that. Can someone tell me what products I should use, and what hairstyles to do on her to lessen the breakage and help her hair grow longer? She has hair down past her shoulders, but the curls are so tight, you'd never know. Thanks!!!

I'm mixed and I have curly hair as well. My mom used luster's pink oil on my hair and it worked great, and it is very good for the hair. It moisturizes it and keeps it healthy. A pony tail causes breakage. If her hair is that curly she definitely needs some kind of product like luster's pink oil in her hair for it to maintain good health. What I think you should do is go to the store and buy that, and some small colorful rubber bands. Wash your daughters hair, and sit her down. Depending how much hair she has, use like a quarter size of the luster's and put it all over her hair and brush it in. This is a really good hairstyle for toddlers. Part it down the middle. And then on each side part it again so it's like a cross. Make four braids in her hair and that should hold for a couple days.Use a bristle brush to make sure you get it smooth. I don't know what kind of hair you have, but black hair needs to be washed no more than a couple times a week. If you have questions let me know! I'm great with little thick curly haired girls,lol.

I understand how you like other little girls hair and wanting you can do the same things for your daughter but she is only 3 yrs old. Putting poduct on her hair could block her pores that could lose her hair which is worse. Just give her a trim and condition her regularly that will make it heathier and please don't put elastic on her this cause breakage. It is okay to put hair in ponytail but not for all day, she could have headache and you might not even know it.

Hi. I have a Wave Rage 5-in-1 Matrix Styler with can create straight, crimped, or curled hairstyles.

Because my hair is slightly curly, I wanted to straighten it. It's strait at the top but curls at the ends for some reason.

SO i bought this thinking that i could straighten it like a lot of other people have done. Sort of like this picture: http://www.a-l-i-n-e.com/img/aline%20str...

Now.. I'm quite.. tomboyish and i know nothing about hair (Even though mine is really long -30 inches-) other than how to wash it. I also got it highlighted...

But so i tried to straighten it and it worked a little bit... but nowhere near as strait as other people have it. I don't know if its the straitener.. my hair type or length.. or if i'm doing something completely wrong or if you're supposed to use some... cream or whatever.. I'm on a tight budget so if there's a cheap effective alternative to anything.... i'd be happy to hear it..

Okay, this is an album, the pictures of me are entitled 'Me.' and the ones of the hairstyles I want are entitled 'Hair.'

I would like the type of hairstyle that is short at the back but long at the front. But I was wondering if it would suit me?

Word of advise though-

I used to be a MAJOR tom boy. I wore huge clothes and had long hair. Then I completed the look with a short tomboy haircut. It was kind of the biggest mistake, and best thing ever. Suddenly everyone called me a guy (which gave me a permanent complex problem with looking masculine) and I even got renamed, "ryan". I was pretty much forced to dress girlier until my hair grew long enough to look girly again, and by then my self esteem was shot.

You kind of remind me of a young version of myself. That haircut is really good, but I would suggest girlier clothes. =) People can be cruel, and it would be terrible if other kids decided to make you think you aren't as pretty as you are.

awww cute hair! I love the girl's hair and make-up with the yellow shirt! ahem...I don't think it would look bad on you. But you look too inocent to have hair like that. Plus it's a HUGE change! It really depends on what the guy looks like overall and then the hair just adds to his looks. But for me I really have this thing for guys with longer hair. I don't care for it too short. I think it's really hott when a guy can grow a nice head of hair. Not too long like a hippie, just a little less than shoulder length but below the ears.That way you can wear things like bandanas in your hair and give off the rugged sexy rocker look. But then again that's just my opinion and I'm 21.

K, it seems as though the style is the problem, and, maybe you really didn't know what you wanted 2 begin w/. Go to a salon, and get extensions, they don't have to be really long, since you don't like that, but don't go for the real expensive ones, go for the ones where they just use glue. this is perfectly safe, less money, and i hear it's painful. This way, you'll fix your hair in time 4 school, and still b able to change it up later.

It's the fringe that really does it, how does she make it swoosh over like that? I've tried a swooshing fringe before but I dont think my hairs long enough and it always makes it go weird at the back. Do you have to have it specially cut?

Your hair is just a tad to short, but you could get more of your hair and part it to the side. And use bobby pins to hold it.

Or flip it to the other side and see what happens.

Just keep trying and expiermenting.

You can get it specially cut, it is slightly easier but sometimes they'll cut it like this, but a bit longer then that (i think its cool though);

I used to have both of these cuts, the one you want is really easy to style.

But a word of advice, don't apply too much hairspray to the fringe as it'll cause pimples. =/

ok, so I had my hair layered a couple of months ago, but then after that i found out that the layering wasnt done properly. so I went to the salon again and the hair stylist told me that my hair were too short to be layered properly again. so she advised me to let it grow long. after that I never got a chance to cut my hair again ( actually I wanted to grow it longer). now my hair are past my shoulders like almost halfway down my back but the problem is that the hair in the front are like just shoulder length (cos of the layering) and its all uneven.. I dont want to get a layer cut again cos i like to plait my hair often. but how do i cut my hair so that its even and yet i dont have to cut it too short(its taken me llllooooooooooonng to grow it) . help please!! suggest a good hairstyle for me... =DD thnks!! and MERRRRY CHRISTMASS!!!!

Just get the longest layers trimmed regularly, and the shorter layers will start catching up.

It's a bit weird, but often having longer layers cut a bit can actually make your hair look longer overall, because more of the hair is the same length. You would still be able to plait your hair if you only have an inch cut off the bottom.

um, i'd add some natural highlights in the front and back to make hair look uneven un purpose and then, um, just get side bangs (think rhiana) that are long and then just wave, rest of back hair to look more natural

My hair is pretty long (boob length) and it's a little wavy. my last cut I went for side bangs with a side part, but I got side bangs with a middle part. Well, first of all, do you actually have hair that can do this style? If you don't, it won't matter what you do, it'll never work.

If you do have long, thick hair, use hot curlers. When they've cooled, turn your head upside down and shake; don't brush or comb. If the upside down trick makes it too fluffy, just take the curlers out, don't brush or comb, put into place with fingers.

You'll need to go to the salon for this. It's near impossible for you to do it yourself unless your a professional hair stylist and you have the right material.

Big curling iron, hold it in for 10 seconds each. Hairspray massively. I would also use a good conditioner before. Or you could always go get it done at a beauty school, it's REALLY cheap and it looks great!

I need a new haircut. I want a change/makeover.

I currently have really thick, curly, red hair that is long (a little below my chest)(just above the end of my rib cage).

I have thinned my hair out before and it makes it look frizzy when the little hairs grow back or whatever.

I cut my hair to my shoulders once and my hair is so thick that it poofed out....and it looked TERRIBLE!

I need to be able to pull it back in a ponytail.

let your hair grow. Try pinning it back above your ears with bobby pins or barrettes. Never fear because curly hair should be "in" soon. In New Jersey it has started to become cool. Don't try to straighten your hair though. It takes hours, trust me. also try little pigtails, they're cute!

You could wet your hair at night and sleep with it in braids like 8 or so braids and then take them out in the morning and wear your hair down or in a pony tail. That looks great, is free and easy to do, and it gives your hair texture and body. That's what I do. You could also buy a curling iron and curl your hair or pull it back in a pony tail or wear a headband or a scarf around your head. You could also just pull the top of your hair back. Good luck!
