Good hairstyles for curly hair?

I have REALLY thick curly hair and I have no idea what to do with it, all I ever do is wear it up or sometimes down. or half back. Its long down my back btw.

NEW INFO ADDED!!

My hair was the same way for years and I always wanted to find a different way to wear it. A few ideas though:

-put it back in a ponytail and tease hair up around the crown.

-twist it back in a french twist

-braid a few pieces and pull those back

You could also get a straightner and straighten your hair (it takes forever, but it would look pretty. Plus, it's not permanent so you can change it on a whim). Be sure to use a heat safe conditioner though.

Also, add some accessories like a headband, pretty barrettes, or hair sticks. That will give the same old styles a little pizzazz by changing accessories.

Check out www.naturallycurly.com for more ideas. There is a ton of great curly hair info there.

Styling hair isn't supposed to take a few minutes (unless you are in a rush and want to do the wet look) you actually have to put lots of work into it.

well the styles I do are:

1. Poofy ponytail (top part of head is sleek though). also can add gel to the ponytail part. the ponytail shouldn't be a low one it should be medium or mid-high

2. wear it down with gel/pomade or gel and mousse (use as MUCH as you need and get it all in) and you apply it after a shower, and bend your head over and apply. you can let airdry, or blow-dry it just a little, with a diffuser.

3. Buns (middle or high.. top it off with some cute dangling earrings)

4. Half up and half down.

You can wear it like this surly, or if you flat iron. If you flat-iron then just curl the ends.

5. twist your hair upwards and put it in a clip and let the curly part flow down or however you want it. Also can french-rol it up and leave smoe curly parts hanging down.

6.another cute ponytail look is wear it mid-height and take out a bang and slick it in the front like on your head.. dunno how to describe it but im sure you've seen the style.. ofh, and flat-iron this part too (just teh bang)

7. also if u ever straighten your whole hair, instead of just wearing it like that, curl just the ends only and if will look better. so if would be good if u have a flat-iron that can also curl hair.
